Immediate Opening: Part Time Child and Adolescent Licensed Psychologist at Center for CBT – New Jersey

The Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), a well-established group private practice in New Jersey, is seeking a part time CBT-oriented licensed psychologist to join our team and provide clinical services for children, adolescents, young adults, and families.

We are a passionate group of clinicians dedicated to providing personalized, research-supported clinical services for children, adolescents, and families with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Our care is organized into three core areas—CBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and neuropsychological testing—allowing us to tailor support to a wide range of needs. We also partner with schools and organizations to provide consultations, professional development workshops, and clinical services. We are excited about cutting-edge research and treatment options, as well as utilizing technology to make our work easier. CBT Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities include providing CBT and other evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families, as well as collaborating with medical and school-based professionals, as appropriate. Typical diagnoses include anxiety, OCD, ADHD and disruptive behavior, Tourette syndrome and tics, trichotillomania, depression, feeding disorders, autism, and social skills deficits. Cases are assigned based on the candidate’s experience and areas of passion. Services are provided in-person, virtually, and hybrid. The clinician will also have have option to attend our monthly “Think Tank” staff meetings to collaborate with colleagues and to write 1-2 clinically-relevant blog articles published on our website yearly. There are also opportunities to provide workshops for professionals and members of the community, and to provide periodic school-based consultations.

This is a part-time position and will require at least 1 evening per week. There would be an option for growth into a full time position with mutual interest, but this is not required.

Ideal candidate

The ideal candidate for this position is a vibrant and dynamic clinician; eager to help children, teens, and families; and skilled in using evidence-based treatment techniques. The candidate is excited to work in a collaborative environment as a key member of the team, develop their niche within the practice, receive and provide consultation/supervision to colleagues and trainees, and work alongside experienced psychologists who are experts in their respective specialties.

While the area of specialization is open, we have a preference for doctors with an interest in one or more of the following areas: Tourette syndrome and tics, trichotillomania and other BFRBs, ADHD and disruptive behavior, and social skills. Prior training and experience providing CBIT, PCIT, and working with schools is a plus.

Benefits

The candidate will meet with our practice director regularly to ensure that they see the cases they are passionate about and maintain a schedule and volume of cases that works for them. They will receive supervision/consultation from our director or clinical director at a mutually agreed upon frequently.

The position includes competitive compensation as a W-2 employee, participation in our 401K program with employer match, malpractice insurance, flexible hours, full admin support, and minimal paperwork. We provide a professional development stipend to encourage our clinicians to stay current with evidence-based practices so we can best help the clients we serve.
