2026 Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position in CBT for Children and Adolescents

The Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, a group psychology private practice in East Brunswick, NJ, is excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for a CBT track post-doctoral fellowship position beginning in Fall 2026 (or as soon as early 2026):

About Us

We are a passionate group of psychologists dedicated to providing personalized, research-supported clinical services for children, adolescents, and families with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Our care is organized into three core areas—cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and neuropsychological testing—allowing us to tailor support to a wide range of needs. We also partner with schools and organizations to provide consultations, professional development workshops, and clinical services. As an established and expanding practice, we are excited about training clinicians, cutting edge research and treatment options, and utilizing technology to make our work easier. As has been the case since our practice was launched in 2015, we prioritize the health and happiness of our team members, outstanding training, and sound work-life balance.

CBT Fellowship Position

Clinical responsibilities include providing CBT to youth and families with a range of presenting concerns, as well as collaborating with medical and school professionals as appropriate. The breadth of cases can include individuals with anxiety, OCD, Tourette syndrome, trichotillomania, ADHD and disruptive behavior, autism spectrum disorders, social skills deficits, depression, feeding disorders, trauma, and school-based behavioral concerns. The fellow will received advanced training in exposure therapies, parenting training, and habit reversal/CBIT. Specific cases are provided based on the candidate’s training goals and areas of passion. The fellow will also write 1-2 clinically-relevant blog articles for publication on our website. To provide a broad training experience, the fellow will have the opportunity to provide individual CBT with adults and conduct workshops for professionals and members of the community.

The ideal candidate for this position is a vibrant and dynamic clinician, eager to help children, teens, and families, and skilled in using evidence-based treatment techniques. The candidate is excited to work in a collaborative environment as a key member of the team, develop their niche within the practice, receive hands-on supervision, and work alongside experienced psychologists who are experts in their respective specialties. Candidates with specialized training in different CBT modalities, such as PCIT, PMT, Exposure, ERP, or CBIT/HRT are particularly encouraged to apply.

Schedule and Availability

Our team provides services through a hybrid model that includes both in-person and virtual therapy and requires after-school availability.

Benefits, Salary, and Start Date

Fellows will receive 3+ hours of individual supervision from licensed psychologists within a mentorship model and will meet with the practice director regularly to ensure that they see the cases they are passionate about and are supported as they shape their professional specialization within the practice. Fellows will also participate in periodic didactic trainings and attend monthly “Think Tank” staff meetings to collaborate with colleagues and contribute ideas for program development.

The position includes competitive salaried compensation as a W-2 employee, participation in our 401K program with employer match, malpractice insurance, vacation, flexible hours, full administrative support, minimal paperwork, support for the EPPP, and genuine guidance to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance. We also provide a professional development stipend to encourage our clinicians to stay current with evidence-based practices so we can best help the clients we serve. As your start date approaches, we’ll help to onboard you with ease and provide assistance with securing your permit (no easy task in NJ!).

Start date is the Summer or Fall 2026, with the possibility to start in early 2026. Start date is flexible for the right candidate. This is a two-year position, with the expectation of transitioning to a licensed psychologist during the second year. There is opportunity to join our team on a longer-term basis after completion of the fellowship, which has been the case for previous fellows. Additionally, there are possible opportunities for leadership roles based on experience and growth within the organization.
