We're Hiring - Join Our Team
Immediate Opening: Child and Adolescent Licensed Psychologist (or Post Doc) at Center for CBT – New Jersey
The Center for Cognitive Behavior Therapy, a well-established group private practice in New Jersey, is seeking a CBT-oriented licensed psychologist (or post doctoral fellow) to join our team and provide clinical services for children, adolescents, young adults, and families.
Who we are
We are a passionate group of clinicians dedicated to providing personalized, research-supported clinical services for children, adolescents, and families with a range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. We also partner with schools and organizations to provide consultations, professional development workshops, and clinical services. We are excited about cutting-edge research and treatment options, as well as utilizing technology to make our work easier. We prioritize the health and happiness of our team members with sound work-life balance and a strong sense of community.
Responsibilities
Clinical responsibilities include providing CBT and other evidence-based treatments to children, adolescents, young adults, and their families, as well as collaborating with medical and school-based professionals, as appropriate. Typical diagnoses include anxiety, OCD, ADHD and disruptive behavior, Tourette syndrome and tics, trichotillomania, depression, feeding disorders, autism, and social skills deficits. Cases are assigned based on the candidate’s experience and areas of passion. Services are provided in-person, virtually, and hybrid. The clinician will attend monthly “Think Tank” staff meetings to collaborate with colleagues and write 1-2 clinically-relevant blog articles published on our website yearly. There are also opportunities to provide workshops for professionals and members of the community, and to provide periodic school-based consultations.
The position will begin as part-time, and grow to full-time based on case load growth and mutual interest. At full capacity, the clinician is expected to be in-person 2-3 days per week and to work 2-3 evenings.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate for this position is a vibrant and dynamic clinician; eager to help children, teens, and families; and skilled in using evidence-based treatment techniques. The candidate is excited to work in a collaborative environment as a key member of the team, develop their niche within the practice, provide consultation/supervision to colleagues and trainees, and work alongside experienced psychologists who are experts in their respective specialties.
While the area of specialization is open, we have a preference for doctors with training and expertise in one or more of the following areas: Tourette syndrome and tics, trichotillomania and other BFRBs, ADHD and disruptive behavior, and social skills. Prior training and experience providing CBIT, PCIT, and working with schools is a plus.
While we have a preference for a Licensed Psychologist, we will also consider post-doctoral fellows with a path to taking their EPPP in the near future.
Benefits
The candidate will meet with our practice director regularly to ensure that they see the cases they are passionate about and maintain a schedule and volume of cases that works for them. They will receive supervision/consultation from our director or clinical director at a mutually agreed upon frequently.
The position includes competitive compensation as a W-2 employee, participation in our 401K program with employer match, malpractice insurance, unlimited vacation, flexible hours (we typically do a 4 day work week), full admin support, minimal paperwork, and genuine support in helping you maintain a healthy work-life balance. We provide a professional development stipend to encourage our clinicians to stay current with evidence-based practices so we can best help the clients we serve.
